Article Portable Restroom and Roll-off Business Benefits from Software Change October 2023, by Mark Billings, Product Manager, Ritam Technologies, LLC When Containers, Inc. was acquired through a merger, they also inherited software from a sister company for managing their portable restroom and rolloff businesses. This software was an aggressively marketed “web-based” program undergoing a new version roll-out. After a year of struggles with that software and constant updates that appeared to not be fully tested, according to Cheryl, office manager, “We had enough and reached out to Ritam Technologies for their Summit Rental System. We had successfully used it in the pre-merger company and very much wanted to return to the stability of a program that simply works and doesn’t cause headaches.” Ritam was also rolling out of their new version, but Cheryl felt confident the experience would be smoother than the other software. Considering the unreliability of her existing data, Cheryl opted to start the Summit software data entry from scratch. This provided accuracy and quickly familiarized staff with the new Summit version. Containers now has scheduling, single-click route optimizing and multi-route map views, billing, auto emailing of invoices, auto credit card processing, customer accounting, reporting, and a mobile app for technicians to take their routes with them, including email and text notifications to customers. A year after the switch, Cheryl is very pleased with the results. “You guys have been great, and supported us every step of the way. We knew from working with you in the past, that this was the right decision. We have no regrets except putting up with the other program for so long.”
